Lolo Jones' team wins silver in World Cup bobsled

The U.S. bobsled team of Lolo Jones and Jazmine Fenlator took home the silver medal in the World Cup bobsled season opener in Lake Placid, N.Y. finishing a fraction of a second behind the reigning world champion Kaillie Humphries of Canada.

Humphries and brakewoman Chelsea Valois took home the gold after finishing the two runs in 1 minute, 54.86 seconds, 0.47 seconds ahead of Fenlator (of Wayne, N.J.) and the two-time Olympic hurdler Jones.

Jones — who finished fourth at the London Games — is carrying on the tradition of U.S. track stars like Herschel Walker and Willie Gault bringing their skills to the bobsled run.

Fenlator is the experienced driver while Jones has proven herself to be a natural as the brakewoman – better known as the pusher.

Elana Meyers and track and field star Tianna Madison, who won gold at the London Olympics in the 4x100 relay, won bronze, just 0.01 seconds behind their U.S. counterparts at Mount Van Hoevenberg.
