Brandon Jacobs: I'll still be rooting for Niners

Brandon Jacobs was just a tiny part of the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl run this season but — even after barely being used then discarded by the team — is still rooting for them to beat the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII.

"My emotions are I want the 49ers to win the game,"Jacobs said. "I don't have any regrets about not being there whatsoever.  I don't feel like I should've done things differently. I don't feel anything else.  I'm a hundred percent happy where I am."

The place where Jacobs is at the moment is his home in Atlanta.

After seven seasons — and two Super Bowl rings — with the New York Giants, the 260-pound running back found the going rough out on the west coast.

The 30-year-old Jacobs was cut by the 49ers after the season ended but not after being suspended for conduct detrimental to the team after he griped about his lack of playing time (5 carries for 7 yards) on Twitter.  He also posted photos of himself in a Giants uniform — something that irked the Niners' brass.

"I didn't mean to disrespect anybody or hurt anybody's feelings," Jacobs said.  "I didn't have any disrespect.  I didn't mean to do any of that.  I was told I would get some of the pie and I didn't.  That kind of made me a little upset and made me snap."

Jacobs isn't letting the past season discourage him from hooking up with one of the other 31 NFL teams in the future.

"I feel like I got a lot left in the tank, I feel so good right now," he said.  "I look at last year as a red-shirt year."
