Lawyer releases photos of Yankees prospect Ty Hensley after attack (PHOTOS)

Graphic photos of Yankees prospect Ty Hensley, who, authorities say, was assaulted at a friend's house in an Oklahoma City suburb last month have been released and the images of the "brutal attack" are frightening.

The pictures show Hensley — after the 21-year-old was allegedly knocked unconscious and kicked repeatedly in the head by a former NFL prospect Anthony Morales — lying in a hospital bed.

Morales allegedly also broke Hensley's jaw, knocked out his tooth and gashed his chin.

Jacob Diesselhorst of Maples, Nix and Diesselhorst, PLLC, has released photos of Hensley after the incident as well as a statement:

Attached are 4 photographs taken of Ty Hensley shortly after the attack on December 28, 2014.

These photographs were taken while Ty was still in the hospital being treated for his injuries and, one, a short time after he was released from the hospital. As is clear from these photos, Ty’s injuries were clearly not the result of "self-defense" on the part of Mr. Morales.  As is reflected in the felony charges filed against Mr. Morales, Ty was attacked, unprovoked, and was then savagely beaten after he had been knocked unconscious and was defenseless.

There is only one victim here and it is Ty Hensley.

We will continue to fully cooperate with authorities, something Mr. Morales declined to do from the outset of this investigation.

Please continue to direct all media inquiries on behalf of Ty Hensley and his family through my office.  Thank you.

The Yankees declined comment on the incident Thursday.

Morales started at linebacker for Weber State, was signed by the Carolina Panthers in July, and was cut by the NFL team in August. He has disputed the charges.

Hensley was the Yankees' 2012 first-round pick.

Hope to see you back in pinstripes soon Ty.
