Jason Pierre-Paul draws inspiration from 5-year-old Orioles fan with robotic hand

Inspiration comes from many different kinds of people and injured Giants star Jason Pierre-Paul is drawing his from a 5-year-old girl with a robotic hand who threw out the first pitch at the Orioles game on Monday.

The 26-year-old defensive end — who was seen nearly three weeks ago in photos with a massive wrap around his right hand after injuring his hand in a July 4 fireworks accident — posted a photo on his Instagram late Monday of Hailey Dawson wearing an Orioles-themed robotic hand.

Dawson was born with Poland Syndrome, which has caused her right hand to not fully develop. The hand she used Monday to throw the ceremonial first pitch to Manny Machado was made by UNLV students using a 3-D printer.

Heres little Hailey throwing out the first pitch:

JPP had his right index finger amputated and the full extent of his injuries isn’t entirely clear as the Giants haven’t been able to see him yet. He has yet to sign his one-year, $14.8 million franchise contract either.

But it does open up conversation of how far a player can take the use of prosthetics in the NFL.
