VIDEO: Lindsey Vonn airlifted from race hill after bad crash

Lindsey Vonn crashed during the first day of the World Championships in Schladming, Austria and had to be airlifted from the race hill by a medical helicopter.

Vonn was treated by medical personal for about 12 minutes on the snow covered course before she was hoisted into the rescue chopper.

The crash occurred after Vonn's Super-G run was delayed three hours by heavy fog.  Bad weather has plagued Schladming over the weekend and race organizers weren't sure if the race would take place.

"It snowed a lot Sunday night, there was no training possible Monday on the race hill, then it rained most of Monday afternoon and evening. I know they're going to try really hard to get the race off Tuesday," Vonn said in her column for the Denver Post.

Vonn has won the Super-G world championship four straight seasons but was hampered this winter because of health problems.

The attractive Olympic skier has been linked with golfer Tiger Woods in recent weeks and her sponsor, Red Bull, hired extra security so she wouldn't be hounded by the media during the world championships.

That fall looked pretty bad. Hope she's okay.
